Chapter:
Introduction-to-Concrete-and-Concrete-Materials
Explain types of Concrete.
Concrete are classified as follows on various basics:
- Vacuum Concrete where Concrete is initially placed with higher W/C ratio & immediately after placing, excess
water is removed through vacuum process. - Aerated Concrete where Aluminium is used as a mixture in the concrete.
- Fire Resistance Concrete which is mostly used in structures directly exposed to fireworks or high temperatures.
- Self Compacted Concrete which flows under its own weight with very high degree of workability.
- Fibre reinforced concrete where fine fibrous structure is used for reinforcement purpose.
- Sulphur infiltrated concrete which involves the impregnation of sulphur into concrete by various methods.
- Polymer Concrete which involves the impregnation of polymer into concrete or by mixing it in green stage.
- Ferrocement: Ferrocement is a mixture consisting of cement sa....
