The total number of members in Nepal Engineering council is NEA -> 15

According to the Nepal Engineering Council Act, 2055 (1999) and its subsequent amendments, the total number of members in the Nepal Engineering Council (NEC) is 21.

The composition of these 21 members is structured to include government nominees, elected representatives, and academic heads to ensure a balanced regulatory body.

Breakdown of the 21 Members:

• 1 Chairperson: An engineer with at least 15 years of experience (Nominated by the Government).

• 1 Vice-Chairperson: An engineer with at least 10 years of experience (Nominated by the Government).

• 7 Members: One engineer from each of the 7 Provinces, ensuring geographic and inclusive representation (including at least 3 women).

• 5 Members: Engineers elected by the Nepal Engineers' Association (NEA).

• 1 Member: The President of the Nepal Engineers' Association (NEA).

• 1 Member: A Campus Chief from an engineering college (Nominated by the Government).

• 1 Member: A representative from the Institute of Engineering (IOE), Tribhuvan University.

• 1 Member: A representative from other universities in Nepal that provide engineering education.

• 2 Members: Two engineers (including at least one woman) nominated by the Council itself.

• 1 Member-Secretary: The Registrar of the Council.

Note for Exam Takers: In older practice sets or before the First Amendment (2079 BS), some sources listed the count as 15 or 18. However, under the current amended Act, the total is 21.
