With the help of comparison and contrast with the past life of the poet with present he has shown his anger towards time because it has transformed him into old age. Poet has proven that time is supreme and nothing can stand before time. He remembers his romantic youth and laments over the present old and neglected  condition. When he compares present life with the past life he realizes that 'time has transfigured him from strong, energetic, vigorous and high spirited youth to a helpless, lonely and weak creature.finally he spits into the face of time witch has changed him to the present condition.
