Introduction-to-Concrete-and-Concrete-Materials
Define Concrete and write down its ingredients.
Concrete is a heterogeneous, multi-phase composite material composed of coarse granular material (the aggregate or filler) embedded in a hard matrix of material
(the cement or binder) that fills the space among the aggregate particles and glues them together. The simplest definition
of concrete can be written as,
concrete =Aggregate + Binding material + Admixtures
The ingredient of Golden age Concrete are:
- Hydraulic lime to provide self cementing properties
- Volcanic Ash to make concrete set under water
- Horse hair to import reinforcement so as to make concrete less liable to crack
- Aggregate likes sand,stones etc.
The ingredient of Modern age Concrete are:
- Cement (10 - 15 % )as a binding material
- Aggregate ( 70- 75 % ) like sand, stones etc.
- Admixtures as per the requirements.
- Water ( 15 - 25....
